Snow forces road closures

Many local roads became impassible following heavy overnight snow falls and high winds.

Police closed many roads, asking motorists to avoid driving, due to the dangerous conditions.

They have also released a list of other roads in the area which are deemed as ‘very difficult’ or ‘impassable’, and are urging motorists to avoid these routes.

The Cat & Fiddle, Rainow to Whaley Bridge, and Bosley to Buxton roads are currently blocked. Styal Road in Styal is said to be impassable, while the A34 in Wilmslow, London Road in Alderley Edge and B5087 Alderley Edge to Macclesfield are very difficult.
