Comprised of 5k and 10k Survival Races, a Bear Grylls Kids Race and a fantastic Bear Grylls Outdoor Festival; truly a day for the whole family unlike any other.
“This is about empowering people to test and extend their adventure fitness, using the type of obstacles that I have often encountered in the wild. We all have an edge, and this race is designed to push those physical and mental limits, to there & beyond.” – Bear Grylls
Our four new flagship obstacles are set to challenge and impress racers – months of mud, sweat, and tears from our talented partners Overbury, Morgan Lovell, and the Morgan Sindall Group will be showcased throughout the course. Their construction prowess has culminated in a 15 metre high and 32 metre long obstacle in our Mountain zone. It has taken an experienced construction team two weeks to build on Tatton Park’s beautiful grounds and has used over 1500 scaffolding poles – an impressive first for the obstacle racing community!
New 4 Flagship Obstacles
This year, our events are reaching new heights with help from Overbury, Morgan Lovell, and the Morgan Sindall Group. The challenge? To build FOUR brand new flagship obstacles for the 2016 BGSR. The four obstacles correspond to the above-mentioned survival themes including Jungle, Mountain, Arctic and Desert. The aim of these zones and obstacles being to transport people out of their local, everyday surroundings and into the wild world of adventurer, Bear Grylls. This obstacle is set to break world records and blow minds – watch this space.
“I am really excited that the BGSR team is working with Overbury, Morgan Lovell, and the Morgan Sindall Group. The expertise and enthusiasm we have seen so far is incredible and I hope it is the start of a long and prosperous partnership. We can’t wait to see the finished obstacles being tackled by thousands of racers this year.” – Bear Grylls
Partnering with the Morgan Sindall Group was an obvious choice. As one of the UK’s leading construction and regeneration groups, they have the expertise needed to tackle large and complex projects with ease. Their expert team embraced the challenge! It is their two office fit out and refurbishment businesses, Overbury and Morgan Lovell, who have taken on the challenge of creating ‘the Big Four’ obstacles. With support from their vast network of talented professionals to design the new obstacles, the Bear Grylls Survival Race is set to be better than ever before!
