The Macclesfield & District Fundraising Group of the British Heart Foundation (BHF) held its first coffee morning of the year recently at Macclesfield Conservative Club.
Joined by Mayor of Macclesfield, Cllr Adam Schofield and local MP, David Rutley, the well-attended event was organised to raise funds for the charity’s important activities in and around Macclesfield. These include its work visiting local schools, to teach local young people vital resuscitation skills, as well as to support its premises in Macclesfield town centre, where the charity sells a variety of pre-loved furniture and other household items. Thanks to the generosity of local people over £110 was raised, which will be directly invested in the charity’s local work.
As well as many stalls selling home-baked treats and hot drinks, there was a tombola, and even a demonstration on cardio-pulmonary resuscitation given by the BHF’s Macclesfield and Bollington First Responders.
