Working in Paradise!
The renovation of the ‘David Jones’ Jacquard hand loom at Paradise Mill is taking shape.
Pictured is Trish, who has the painstaking job of attaching the new linen harness.
She has 5,760 harness chords to attach, and level each mail as she goes.
If you book a morning tour of Paradise Mill you will find Trish working her way through the last few slips.
Each slip only contains 384 threads organised as 24 rows of 16 threads!
That’s an awful lot of weavers knots!
