An Audience with Martin Kemp

Now is your chance to get up close and personal with pop music icon, actor and director, Martin Kemp when he appears at Buxton Opera House on Sunday 29 May.

Martin will talk about the early days, learning to play bass alongside his brother, guitarist Gary and joining vocalist Tony Hadley and saxophonist Steve Norman  to form Spandau Ballet in1979.

You can expect to hear tales from the new romantic days, what it was like hitting the headlines and living the dream as a young pop star who found fame. Martin will also shed light on his starring role as Steve Owen in EasEnders and the making the hard hitting film The Krays.

As well as becoming a director of feature films Martin has enjoyed a career as a writer of the acclaimed auto biography True.

Asking the questions will be Simon Price, who was section editor at Melody Maker (1988-1997), who’s has interviewed some of the biggest names in the music business including: Courtney Love, Kylie Minogue, Bjork, Snoop Dogg, Cher, Dexys Midnight Runners and the Rt. Hon. Tony Benn.
