English Touring Opera are back in Buxton as part of their Spring season. Featuring a host of new talent in Blanche McIntyre’s Mozart: The Marriage of Figaro and a revival of the 2011 Puccini: Il tabarro & Gianni Schicchi alongside Rossini: Fireworks! There is something for all opera fans.

English Touring Opera are well known for producing top class operas and these are no exception. With stunning costumes, set and outstanding performers, these productions create memories to be treasured.

Presenting a new production of Mozart’s classic comedy, The Marriage of Figaro shines a light on the inequalities that exist in modern society. From matters of class, ethnicity and gender, seen through the lens of a comedy and performed by a very modern company.

Reviving the much loved 2011 production of their double bill of Il tabarro & Gianni Schicchi which are performed on the same night. These two, one act operas provide the perfect introduction to opera for newcomers, as well as being incredible productions for any Puccini aficionado.

Don’t miss the chance to see Rossini: Fireworks! A concert of sparkling vocal displays taken from Rossini’s opera seria. These were the operas that Rossini was most proud and which contains some of his most brilliant writing for orchestra and challenging vocals. Fireworks! is being performed in only seven venues, so this is a rare opportunity to see this thrilling concert.
