Of the several gardens, open to the public, within a fifteen minute drive of Macclesfield the National Trust’s Hare Hill Gardens between Prestbury and Alderley, must be one of the best – and wonderful place to spend a few hours – or even a whole day enjoying a picnic.
The rhododendrons may be beginning to fade but continue to provide a colourful backdrop.
At this time of year between Spring and Summer – the gardens are in a transition – the rhododendrons and azalea flowers fading – the wisteria and summer buds slowly awakening – but despite this the all pervading beauty and tranquility is quite breathtaking.
