MACCLESFIELD MAN CHARGED WITH WITH DRUG OFFENCES

Macclesfield man charged with drugs and fraud offences after joint operation.

A 50-year-old man has been charged with drugs and counterfeit offences following a joint operation between Macclesfield Neighbourhood Policing Unit and Cheshire East Trading Standards.

The investigation began on 3 February 2013, following a police stop check on a car on Princesway in Macclesfield.

The occupant of the car was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a false instrument and a search was carried out at an address in Newton Street.

Items believed to be counterfeit were seized along with suspected illegal drugs.

Steven William Moore from Newton Street in Macclesfield has since been charged with possession of a Class B drug (amphetamines), making or supplying an article for use in fraud and possession of an article for use in fraud. In addition, Moore was charged with five offences of possessing goods with a false trade mark for sale or hire.

He was bailed to appear at Macclesfield Magistrates on 28 August 2013.
