Macclesfield Town are through to the second round of the FA Cup after a Tony Diagne wondergoal from 35 yards and an own goal gave the Silkmen a 2-0 win at Swindon.
The Silkmen started the first half with their best chance of the opening 45 as former Swindon man Anthony McNamee in the second minute, and this was the only time either goalkeeper was tested until almost halfway through the opening period.
Archibald-Henville saw a long range effort flying over the bar and Foderingham in the Swindon goal had to be alive to a Murtagh cross as the sum of the action before the match was approaching half time and Cronin had to save from Nathan Thompson.
The Second half saw more adventure from both sides, and early on Raffaele De Vita was narrowly missing the target with a right foot shot and Aden Flint managed to head over the bar from six yards out by the hour mark.
The Silkmen`s first chances of the half cane soon after and Keiran Murtagh saw his shot saved by Foderingham.
A minute later the Silkmen were ahead thanks to a spectacular long rage strike from Tony Diagne that flew unstoppably into the top corner.
