SILKMEN PAY THEIR RESPECTS TO BUTCH

Macclesfield Town`s players took the opportunity to pay their respects to Richard Butcher who passed away a little over a year ago.

The player`s home town was Northampton, and he began his youth career at the club, and members of his family were set to be in attendance at this afternoon`s game.

Manager Gary Simpson said: “Whilst it is always disappointing to have a game postponed this late, we had planned all along to visit Richard`s grave to pay our respects. It doesn`t feel like more than a year ago that we lost him and he is still in our thoughts.”
