NO FOR SALE BOARD ON PEACOCKS YET

The Tesco owned old Peacocks store, on Mill Street, remains empty, but is still without a For Sale or For Rent board.

Curious as Peacocks vacated the store over a month ago.

Maybe our initial guess was correct – Tesco will leave the store unoccupied to increase their chances of securing permission for their Hibel Road superstore when they re-apply for planning permission.

The more empty shops we have in the town centre the easier it is for Tesco to claim that the town is undersupplied by retail – which strengthens their case.

Local bakery and sandwich chain Brassingtons are advising their customers that the meat used in their products is guaranteed to be local, most in fact comes fresh from a local farmer`s field in Adlington.

We understand that some of Tesco`s meat is fresh from the field of the 3.30 at Kempton Park.
