CHESHIRE EAST – A COUNCIL TO BE PROUD OF?

Cheshire East Council has been an easy target over the past few years – having made several costly and embarrassing blunders.

Initially, I viewed the news that the Council had set up a series of companies to run key council services as a potential minefield.

But, on reflection, credit where credit’s due – they are really pushing the envelope of local governance in such an innovative and entrepreneurial fashion.

I’m guilty of a number of Michael Jones bashings – but maybe, just maybe, we’re now seeing something positive from our dear leader and his fellow councillors at Cheshire East Council.

And, who knows, we may even have a Council we can be proud of.
