Upton Priory Primary School, Berwick Close, in Macclesfield turned parents and children away as they arrived on Wednesday.
The school had been forced to close owing to water supply problems.
The school’s closure caused huge problems for parents of the school’s 350 children, as they had to make childcare arrangements.
The school remains closed today – Friday 13th June.
Families have been advised that the school is hoping to reopen on Monday.
In a statement on the school’s website headteacher Deana Aldred says: “Thank you for your support and understanding today, we very much appreciate it.
“We regret to inform you that school will remain closed tomorrow, Friday 13th June. This is so that repair work can be carried out to our water supply. We hope that school will re-open on Monday 16th June.
“We will update you tomorrow. Thank you again for your understanding.”
