The Chief Constable of Cheshire, Simon Byrne, has announced two new appointments to the Force′s leadership Team.
Guy Hindle, 47, an officer with 28 years′ experience on the Cheshire Force – and Mark Roberts, 46, who previously served for 21 years with Greater Manchester Police, have been appointed Assistant Chief Constables.
Both officers have completed the national Senior Command Course, Mark graduating in March 2013 and Guy in March 2014. Prior to this, Guy Hindle (as Chief Superintendent) was in charge of policing in East Cheshire; Mark Roberts, (also as Chief Superintendent), was in charge of the Trafford area of Greater Manchester.
As well as leading on the local delivery of neighbourhood policing, both officers have substantial experience of criminal investigations. Guy Hindle, spent two years as Cheshire′s Detective Superintendent in charge of Major Investigations, and Mark Roberts was Detective Superintendent in charge of Investigations within the North West Counter Terrorism Unit.
Chief Constable Byrne said: “Cheshire has a new and very dynamic leadership team that has demonstrated a real commitment to serving the public through the delivery of effective and efficient policing.
“The appointments of Guy and Mark − so soon after the appointment of Janette McCormick (who became Deputy Chief Constable on July 7th) − will provide additional energy and drive as we address the threat of criminality in Cheshire and support victims and communities.”
ACC Mark Roberts said: “Having had the opportunity to spend the last few weeks working with Cheshire Constabulary, I am absolutely delighted to be taking up this post as part of the new team and I look forward to working with everyone in the Constabulary.”
ACC Guy Hindle said: “I have always been proud to serve in the Cheshire Constabulary and I am overwhelmed to achieve a place in the new Command Team.”
