High-flying Music Magpie, the pioneer of the re-commerce sector, is the region’s highest-placed company on the annual rankings of the fastest growing tech businesses in the UK.
The Macclesfield-based company which buys, reconditions and resells via a number of channels, fashion, technology and home entertainment products, takes 24th place in the 14th Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100 league table, which ranks the leading private technology, media and telecoms (TMT) companies with the fastest-growing sales over three years.

Music Magpie, led by entrepreneur Steve Oliver, trades in the US as decluttr, has more than 1,000 staff and has grown sales 95% over the last three years to £84.1m.
Another Macclesfield business and a new entrant on the list is car finance broker Car Loan 4u, which is ranked 30th. Its technology facilitates more than £22m of loans a month and has grown sales 88% over the last three years to £11.4m.
Wilmslow-based software specialist Mobica, which last appeared in 2010, returns to the Tech Trach in 90th place.
Completing the league table, in 100th spot, is Cheadle company Avecto, which develops security software and counts a number of Fortune 100 companies among its users.
