Macclesfield MP, David Rutley, took part in a lively “Question Time” event with “Dropper Inners” from Speaking Up, Speaking Out (SUSO) Parachute in Macclesfield.
Parachute is a Lottery funded organisation, which acts as a drop in for adults with learning disabilities and additional needs. People can attend without a membership, and can take part in a wide range of activities. It is currently open on Mondays, Tuesday and Thursdays with Dropper Inners able to attend for both half days and full days, without any need to become a member.
David responded to a wide range of questions from Dropper Inners and volunteers, at one of the regular meetings. He answered questions on everything from street cleaning to future funding of SUSO. During questions, David agreed to join a SUSO member in one of the questioner’s litter picking exercises in the town. At the end of the session, Dropper Inners were delighted to accept an offer to visit Parliament, so that they can learn more about how the House of Commons works.
After the session, David said, “It was an honour to attend such a lively and interesting question session. It was good to see the members of Suso so well prepared and willing to express their views on a wide range of important issues. I wish SUSO every success in its important work”.
