A service provided by Just Drop-In to help young people from Macclesfield who are experiencing emotional health difficulties has been praised by the local MP.
David Rutley is a Patron of Just Drop-In (JDI), a charity specifically set up to help the town’s youth. The charity provides a range of services, such as information and support, and helps young people with skills in cooking and budgeting. The last 12 months have seen a huge increase in demand for the free counselling service provided by JDI, which has been running for over a decade.
During a recent visit to the charity, which is based on Duke Street in Macclesfield, David heard how the service had seen numbers of young people accessing the counselling service double over a 12 month period. He praised the charity for its efforts to meet the challenges faced by young people and for taking steps to meet local needs in this area.
David said, “Just Drop-In does an excellent job supporting young people in Macclesfield. It is great to see the important work that JDI is doing to support young people with emotional health difficulties and to have these services readily available. It is good to see such local services on offer in Macclesfield”.
