Witnesses to fatal collision in Church Lawton sought

Police officers are currently dealing with a fatal collision in Church Lawton.

The collision, involving a motorbike and a HGV, was reported to police at approximately 15.17 today, Thursday 23 April 2015.

As a result of the collision the A533 is currently closed in both directions from New Inn Lane to the A50 Street Lane. The B5078, Chells Hill, is also closed in both directions from Sandbach Road.

The rider of the motorcycle was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the HGV, a 44-year-old man, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of death by dangerous driving; he is currently in Police custody.
