I’m a seasoned computer user and a huge Apple fan – and the invoice from Apple looked real.
However, as I am not a gamer, and hadn’t purchased any games on behalf of anyone, I thought this had to be a scamming email.
Hovering my cursor over the hotlink – the blue http://support.applet . . . etc confirmed it. The actual hotlink would direct you to: patricia-kovilag.eu/test/.apple/
I’m guessing these will be going out to everyone, but be aware, whatever it is is a scam, and whoever sent it is only after your money.
Firstly, forward the message (with all the headers/raw source exposed) to: reportphishing@apple.com.
Then consign the message to your Junk folder and chalk one more up.
And don’t forget to warn your children – who may be gamers – and could easily be taken in.
