Skout PR has appointed its first apprentice as the business looks to expand further in 2015. Katherine Wilding recently joined the B2B PR consultancy in May following work experience in PR and marketing role with Adactus Housing Group in Lancashire, along with completing her A levels last year at The Fallibroome Academy.
Skout’s apprentice scheme is overseen by the Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA) which means Katherine can work towards a Level 4 Diploma in Public Relations, with the added bonus of first-hand experience on the job.
In her new role, Katherine will offer valuable administrative and PR support to the Skout team. Talking about her new role, Katherine said: “I am delighted to join Skout and gain first-hand experience of the PR sector. Through the PRCA’s apprentice scheme and the opportunity to learn on the job I’m looking forward to a really good start on my career in PR.”
Rob Skinner, managing director, Skout PR adds: “2015 has already been a busy and exciting time for Skout and has enabled us to introduce new staff to our team. At the end of last year, we took on a PR graduate and now Katherine is our latest recruit. We’re looking forward to teaching Katherine the ropes and seeing her grow into first-class PR consultant.”
David Prescod, Katherine’s primary assessor from the PRCA, comments: “It is fantastic to see a keen to learn individual such as Katherine join a forward thinking agency. We know that the application of the skills that she will learn on the PRCA PR apprenticeship will certainly help the business grow”.
Celebrating its fifth anniversary this month, Skout PR is a specialist business PR, social media and digital content consultancy. Skout’s clients include ESPO, Optimum Procurement, Wax Digital and Redcentric.
