Cheshire East Council, together with a number of community and local authority partners, continues to have a presence at the drop in centre at Bosley St. Mary’s Primary School to offer assistance to the Bosley community and family members of those who lost their lives in the mill fire on July 17.
The Council continues to be part of this multi-agency support service, which is providing advice and guidance on a variety of matters on a daily basis.
Members of the community or anyone affected by the tragic events of July 17, is free to call into the school where they can obtain advice on benefits, housing, employment or any other matter that is of concern to them.
The Council is working alongside the community, the parish council, St. Mary’s School Cheshire Police, local churches, Cheshire East Citizens Advice Bureau, Staffordshire Moorlands District Council, Newcastle under Lyme and Staffordshire councils.
Cllr Michael Jones, Leader of Cheshire East Council said: “I am pleased that my team have been able to help a large number of the Bosley community who have sought practical advice and emotional support.
“We will continue to have a presence at the school for as long as we feel it is required, and I would like the community of Bosley to know that their inquiry and concerns are treated in the utmost confidence and will be dealt with by experienced and sensitive staff.
“The generosity of the residents of Cheshire East, businesses and the public at large, has been quite staggering with donations of food, clothing and money and I would like to express my personal thanks to all those people who have helped in this way.
“Naturally our thoughts remain with the families of those people who have lost their lives, especially the family of Jason Schingler who is still missing, and all those deeply affected by this dreadful tragedy.”
