Christ Church will be open this weekend for the national Heritage Open Days programme.
As well as a chance to see Macclesfield’s Georgian gem and engineering marvel between 11am-4pm each day and talk to volunteers, there are some special treats!

Exhibition boards with some of the ideas being explored are still on show. The Roe-naissance Project has been working behind the scenes to find a new life for Christ Church. With the formation of the Macclesfield Heritage and Culture Partnership and the final demise of the Wilson Bowden town centre development scheme we enter an exciting new chapter working with CEC’s Regeneration Team, other heritage projects in Macclesfield and national heritage organisations.
The Project continues to work closely with The Churches Conservation Trust and have recently won support from the Princes Regeneration Trust – who specialise in heritage led regeneration – and are benefitting from their mentoring programme.
The Roe-naissance Project welcomes new volunteers – particularly those who could further research the church’s history, organise events programme, manage PR and marketing, bring business or project management skills.
