Do you know this man?

He’s wanted in connection with a theft from Hurdsfield Post Office at around 10.00 am this morning (4.11.15)

The man pictured in the cctv image asked the shop assistant for a large amount of ten pounds in exchange for twenties. The assistant counted out the tens in front of him and passed them to him. At this stage he claimed he’d asked for ten pence pieces – and returned the tens.

The assistant gave him all his twenty pound notes back and the man left the shop.

It was only later, when the shortfall became evident, that a check on their CCTV system indicated the man had not returned all the money given to him.
