John Dwyer, Police & Crime Commissioner for Cheshire is a winner in the Compact Leadership Awards in London.
The national award, which recognises outstanding leadership which has led to improved support for partnership across the voluntary and community sector (VCS), is a culmination of the Commissioner’s wide ranging work across the sector since coming into office.
Commenting on the award Mr Dwyer said: “Working closely with our partners in the voluntary and community sector enables us to maximise resources and knowledge making us more effective and efficient. It enables me to fulfil my commitments to victims and reduce crime by developing pioneering partnership led initiatives.
“The current financial environment is clearly a challenge but innovative ideas and working together to share knowledge, develop solutions and deliver the best outcomes for our communities means that Cheshire has a police area and a voluntary and community sector to be reckoned with.”
Sally Yeoman, Chief Executive Officer for Halton and St Helens VCA said: “We are delighted that John Dwyer has won a National Compact Award. John has demonstrated both leadership and insight by seeing the voluntary and community sector in Cheshire as a key partner in keeping Cheshire safe and has taken active steps to make that happen. It is a great recognition of the way he is working with us all.”
Leading the way, John Dwyer has ensured all sectors are continuing to work together to the best of their abilities to provide vital services to Cheshire residents and businesses.
