Local MP David Rutley joined in the fun at Macclesfield and Bollington United Reformed Church on Saturday 7th November, supporting their Fair to raise much needed funds for the Church.
It is estimated that around 300 people attended the annual event, with as much as £1,700 raised, to support the running costs of the much valued community building. In addition to the bustling stalls, a fire engine from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service was on hand so that people had the chance to climb aboard, and find out more about the important work of the service.
David has been a regular supporter of the fundraising work done by the church, which is so active in the community, and he will be in attendance next month at its popular Christmas tree festival.
Speaking following the Fair, David said, “It was a pleasure and honour to support the Fair, and to see so many people attending and giving much appreciated money towards the running of the church. The events run by the church offer a much valued companionship for organisers and visitors alike and help strengthen the community spirit. I would like to thank all who organised and attended, and, of course, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, for helping to make the event such a success.”
