Macclesfield Academy took part in the Rotary Club’s Young Chef competition last week.
Managed by the Rotary club of Macclesfield Castle, thirteen students from years 7 and 8 took part to produce a ‘ Nutritional Meal for a Teenager’ with a budget of just £5 for the ingredients.

Professional Chef, Mark Bentham, who provided valuable support to this event said, “The high standard, as in previous years, made it a very difficult decision to choose the winning dishes but these young people in a year or two could well be the next challengers for Bake off.
Alice Lobley won the competition with her dish ‘Pastry Pizzas with salad; 2nd place went to Alex Carter for his ‘ Leek, Tomato and Feta frittatas’ and Joshua Beard took 3rd prize with ‘Spaghetti Bolognese’
Rotary President James Anderton presented certificates to all the students with prizes and a shield to the winner.
