Stick up for Stanage this Christmas

Stuck for stocking fillers? Why not treat someone special to a Stanage sticker to show their support for Stanage-North Lees and receive a year of free parking at one of the Peak District National Park’s best-loved destinations.

The scheme has been set up to help pay for access improvements, bird conservation, woodland management works and visitor information at Stanage-North Lees, near Hathersage.

Rebekah Newman, Stanage-North Lees property manager, said: “These stickers make a perfect present for anyone who loves Stanage. We know people are keen to help care for and protect the special landscape and this is a way for them to show their support.”

In return for a contribution of £15, people will receive a sticker to display in their car for 12 months’ free parking at Stanage car parks, and they will be entitled to a discount at the Stanage-North Lees campsite.

Stanage Edge

Owned by the Peak District National Park, the 542-hectare property is only eight miles from Sheffield city centre, yet includes the iconic gritstone cliffs of Stanage Edge and is home to ring ouzel (the mountain blackbird) and internationally important moorland.

As well as footpaths and access land, Stanage has 1700 recognised climbing and bouldering routes as well as classic cycling routes.

Stickers are available from Stanage-North Lees campsite, the Outside shop in Hathersage and all the Sheffield Climbing Walls (cash only).
