Police appeal for witnesses following Pownall Square assault

At around 7.30am on Friday 11 December 2015 a 45-year-old woman was walking her dog along the passageway when she was grabbed by a man.

She struggled and fell to the floor banging her head. The man then made off.

DS Pete Carter said: “The victim was taken to Macclesfield Hospital to be treated for what are believed to be minor injuries, but this was clearly a distressing ordeal for her and we are supporting her.

“I would urge anyone who was in the vicinity early this morning and saw anyone acting suspiciously to contact police.”
