The Moscow State Circus is heading for Buxton

Are you ready for somersaults, clowns, double-jointed ladies, high-wire accordion players, gigantic bubbles and lovable buffoons? Then ‘roll up, roll up’ for the world-renowned Moscow State Circus, transforming Buxton Opera House into a big top from Friday 29 to Sunday 31 January.

With a brand new show inspired by Russian folklore, Moscow State Circus’ Zhelaniy is loosely based on the story of Cvetik-Semicvetik, ‘the flower with seven colours’, by Benjamin Losin. Each petal represents a wish and forms the perfect backdrop for eye-popping performers to bring the magic of the circus alive.

Introduced by the loveable buffoons Wizard Wako and his crazy sidekick Natalia, audiences will be blown away watching the award-winning Ruban (a 13-person springboard troupe), a high wire ballerina and beautiful daredevil aerial divas. There’s an enchanted garden full of mystery and wonder and some of the bendiest people on the planet. Perfect for families, the show is an eye-popping spectacle with a multitude of flying, back flipping, juggling, wire-walking and even roller-skating.

Moscow State Circus takes place from Friday 29 to Sunday 31 January with matinee and evening performances. Tickets are priced at  £28. Call the box office on 01298 72190 or visit www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk
