The Rotary campaign – run jointly with the Stroke Association – to make our communities safer by encouraging the public to have their blood pressure tested has been a great success.
The Rotary Club of Macclesfield Castle members, together with three volunteer paramedics, tested 249 people on the day and encouraged some 44 to see their GP and 20 others for urgent referral.
Rotarian Steve Smith said “Many people do have their blood pressure taken regularly but this shows that creating such awareness can make a difference to many people. I would also like to thank the paramedics for their time and of course the Grosvenor centre staff for their great help and assistance”
The next Rotary event is a concert by the Capriccio vocal ensemble on Saturday 4th June at St Michaels church in Macclesfield.
Tickets from the Macclesfield Information Centre and Macclesfield Eye Society.
