Another successful Macclesfield Beer Festival – benefitted in no small measure from the much-needed change to warm weather.
The Beer Festival, first held in 1995, received the usual huge support from the public, with funds being raised for Park Lane School – an all-age special school for children with severe learning difficulties.
Held at the home of Macclesfield Rugby Club, Priory Park, the festival has served more than 200,000 beers and raised more than £200,000 over the last 22 years. In addition to offering visitors a wide range of beers, lagers and wines there was the usual helping of sensational entertainment from local bands, a tombola and raffle plus a number of artisan food stalls.
Local MP, David Rutley, who was helping to support the bar said, “It was great to see so many people supporting this important community event, which will have raised much needed funds for Park Lane School. The weather was excellent, and there was a real party atmosphere in the air. Thanks must go out to everyone who helped make the event such a success, particularly Macclesfield Roundtable, the volunteers who gave up their spare time, and the many sponsors of the Festival.”
