Swap the waterways of Whaley Bridge and immerse yourself in the flow and activity of the Grand Canal! Experience the sights, sounds and flavours of Italy over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Following an inspiring trip to Venice last year, Rob Wilson will be unveiling his brand new interpretations which capture the magic and romance of this unique city.

The Derbyshire Open Arts Weekend, from 28th to 30th May, will see the launch of Rob’s latest collection. Described as ‘elegant, inimitable, exciting and romantic’, Venice has all the elements that Rob loves – architecture, lines, reflections and atmosphere – all the aspects needed to unlease his creativity! Using a colour palette so unique to Venice, these pieces promise to conjure up the fond memories of the city that so many people share.

For collectors of Rob’s work there will be a unique opportunity to purchase other unframed originals straight off the studio wall.

Many artists and craftspeople open their Derbyshire studios over the Bank Holiday weekend and invite you to explore their workspaces and galleries.

Within Whaley Bridge, a number of artists are involved, making an enjoyable way to discover the town with this arts trail. Combining many disciplines including paint, photography, textiles, ceramics and even a pop-up cinema, this promises to be a fascinating voyage of discovery.
