It’s a String Driven Thing!

Sutton Scout Hut Near Macclesfield plays host to a unique Folk Rock and Blues Concert on Saturday 18^th June 2016 at 7-30 pm

Legendary 1970s Glaswegian Folk Rockers String Driven Thing are the headliners. Fronted by original members Chris Adams ( vocals and guitar) and classically trained violinist Grahame Smith ( who was also in Van Der Graaf Generator and Hamill) the band also now features Chris Adams’s son Robin who has made a mark with his solo albums.

String Driven Thing were sacked off the Genesis Foxtrot tour in the 1970s for getting four encores before Genesis went on. Their 1973 album The Machine That Cried set the music press around the world alight.

Joining them on the bill is legendary Manchester blues man Victor Brox now in his 75^th year and performing better than ever. He appears with Brian Eastwood ( legendary guitar builder) and his band Pie. Macclesfield legend George Borowski will be appearing with Gaynor Wilson.
