New President of Rotary club

Rotarian James Anderton handed over his chain of office to Ray Kramer to manage the Rotary club of Macclesfield Castle for the ensuing year.  Ray, previously a director of a railway company has been  with Rotary clubs for over 25 years and his experience will certainly help with the comprehensive Rotary programme for the year

With an increasing membership the Rotary club of Macclesfield Castle have planned an ambitious programme to help charities and support youth activities with local schools.

This will include the ongoing mock interviews for students at Falibroome, Macclesfield Academy and now Tytherington school as well as team building events at  Ashgrove, Broken Cross and Hurdsfield.  In order to develop the confidence of our young people the youth speaks, young chef and primary youth speaks competitions which last year was won by Marlborough school will be extended to more schools.  Contact Rotarian John Sherwood for details  01625 404827

The Rotary Community services programme includes the Charites Bazaar on November 19^th, The Xmas tree festival at the United Reform church, Know your blood pressure day and a new event supporting the Rotary Disabled Games within the region.  International support to disasters around the world will be made by contributing to Shelter Box and Life box schemes.  The Lend with Care scheme supports fledgling start-up companies in third world countries and has been a great success so this will be extended to help more entrepreneurs make a living for themselves and their families.

To pay for all this activity the club will again run the annual swimathon on Sunday 12^th March 2017 as well as make a number of collections, a concert and other social events to ensure that members and friends enjoy their Rotary.
