Real ale fans visiting the Bollington Beer Festival this weekend are invited to toast the event with a festival ale, brewed specially to mark the celebration.
Siam Stout has been created by the ale connoisseurs at Bollington Brewery. The brewery’s signature stout has ‘gone east’ with a definitive Thai influence. The beer is infused with Naga Chilli, which brings a subtle lip-tingling heat, while fresh ginger and lemongrass temper the flavour. This oriental twist on the traditional brew proves that stout isn’t a tipple reserved solely for the festive season.
Celebrating its fifth successive year, the event attracts beer and cider lovers from far and wide to sample a range of 46 ales and 15 ciders carefully selected by head brewer, Simon Whatmuff and the brewery’s commercial manager, Amy Wood.
Committed to giving back to the local community, a proportion of the funds raised at the festival will be set aside to provide small grants of up to £1,000 for specific community projects.
Commenting on the event, Lee Wainwright, owner of The Bollington Brewing Co. said: “A staple in the local calendar, The Bollington Beer Festival is back with a bang! Visitors with a passion for ale and cider are in for a treat with our host of specialities to tempt the palate. A lot of work has gone into the event by the organising committee to ensure that locals and visitors to our village can enjoy a cracking weekend.”
