Appeal to trace man in relation to Prestbury robbery

Cheshire Police has released an image of a man they would like to speak to in relation to a robbery in Prestbury.

At approximately 2.10pm on Thursday 4th August 2016 a man entered a shop on The Village, Prestbury and made demands for money. A small quantity of cash was handed over to the man and he then left the store.

After leaving the shop the man was challenged by members of the public, whom the offender threatened with a weapon, thought to be a knife, before fleeing the scene in the direction of Bollin Valley.

Investigating Officer Detective Sergeant Peter Carter said: “We are currently following a number of lines of enquiry and we are keen to speak to anyone who has any information in relation to the incident

“As part of our investigation we would like to speak to the man in the photo that we have released who was seen near to the shop around the time the incident occurred.”
