Businesses invited to take five steps to be better and greener

People who run businesses that support the Peak District National Park’s environment and heritage are invited to a networking event at Chatsworth on Tuesday September 27.

The event is for businesses that are interested in achieving the Peak District National Park’s Environmental Quality Mark (EQM) award or those simply interested in exploring how to make their business greener.  The EQM award is open to all businesses that help to take care of the National Park, from accommodation providers to artists and crafts people, farmers, food producers, visitor attractions and more!

EQM director Faith Johnson said: “The aim is to learn and share ideas about using sustainability to enhance business. Businesses will be able to find out how to be more sustainable, there will be advice on how to improve energy use and guidance on how to enhance customers’ experiences through sustainability.”

The one day event will start at 10.30am until 4.30pm, and is to be held in the Hartington Room at Chatsworth. Booking is essential as places are limited: email faith.johnson@eqm.org.uk or phone 07702452777.

As host and having recently gained the EQM, Chatsworth will showcase some of the estate’s sustainability projects which demonstrate its commitment to safeguarding natural resources and cultural heritage.

The Environmental Quality Mark (EQM) is an award presented to businesses that put pride in the Peak District at the heart of their operations, look after and improve the Peak District’s environment and heritage, safeguard natural resources, , add to the wellbeing of their communities, and work together with businesses in other sectors to use and promote their produce and services.
