Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in Congleton

Officers investigating a serious assault in Congleton have arrested a man from Werrington, Stoke-on-Trent on suspicion of attempted murder.

He is currently being held in police custody where he is assisting officers with their enquiries.

The arrest follows a serious assault, which occurred at 01:40 on Sunday, September 18 at an address on Wagg Street.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any information which may help police with their enquiries is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 112 of 18 September.
