Macclesfield-based Direct Food Ingredients has crowned Tracey Aynsley as its Employee of the Year.
Customer service administrator Tracey, who lives in Macclesfield, has been awarded the prestigious title after receiving an influx of nominations from her colleagues.
Over the past year, Tracey came first and second six times in DFI’s Employee of the Month programme which has lead her to be the overall winner.
The company, which is based on Waters Green, began the scheme 12 months ago in a bid to commend its staff’s fantastic work within the business. Employees nominate one another each month by listing reasons and examples as to why the person deserves the title.
Tracey has been congratulated on going the extra mile for colleagues in other departments as well as DFI’s office in Los Angeles. She has shown incredible commitment to her role and often works through her lunchtimes and evenings to ensure everything is completed on time and always to a high standard.
Feedback also included: “Always giving 100%”, “Great team player” and “Shows a fantastic level of commitment”.
The valued team member was presented with a trophy by managing director, Steve Loake. In second place was sales executive Alysia Hutton from Congleton and a close third was director Cath Hough from Macclesfield. They have also been honoured with a trophy.
Tracey commented: “I joined the company in 2010 and have worked my way through the different departments. It is always a pleasure and never a chore, although there have been a few challenges along the way.
“I am stunned that I have been nominated as Employee of the Year, as far as I’m concerned I am just doing my job and to be rewarded for this is above and beyond belief.”
Steve Loake, managing director at Direct Food Ingredients, said: “Tracey thoroughly deserves being awarded Employee of the Year as she is a fantastic team player. This has been recognised by her colleagues as well as our customers and we always receive such great feedback from them.
“Alysia and Cath came very closely behind and they deserve a big well done too. On behalf of everyone at DFI, I would like to thank them for all their hard work and dedication.”
The company is also celebrating a record few months in sales and Steve puts this down to the fantastic staff. He added: “The team goes above and beyond for every customer, no matter their size or whether they are new or have been with us for years. We pride ourselves on supplying a fast and efficient service and I believe this is the key to our success to date.”
