Man charged with dangerous driving following collision in Astbury

On Wednesday 19 October at around 11:45am a heavy goods vehicle was involved in a collision, with a pedestrian, on Newcastle Road, Astbury.

A 33-year-old local woman was taken to Royal Stoke Hospital suffering from serious leg injuries and a child was also taken hospital to be checked over as a precaution.

As a result, Eugeniusz Patyk, a 56-year-old man, from Radom, Poland was arrested and charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear before South and East Cheshire Magistrates today, 20 October.
