TV comedy legends Cannon and Ball will be at Buxton Opera House with a new comedy play The Dressing Room.
Set behind the scenes at a run-down theatre Tommy Cannon and Bobby Ball find themselves involved in the crazy goings-on of compere Stu Francis and fellow comic Johnnie Casson.
This hilarious play written by Bobby Ball combines sitcom with variety and comedy. Get your hankies out and get ready to wipe away tears of laughter for a whole night of great entertainment suitable for all the family!
Cannon and Ball’s first TV appearance was in 1974 in the variety show The Wheeltappers and Shunters Social Club, before they got picked for Bruce Forsyth’s Big Night. During the eighties they enjoyed huge success with their own ITV programme, The Cannon and Ball Show, which ran till 1988. Their catchphrases ‘rock on Tommy’ and ‘That’ll do for me Cocker’ became firmly rooted in the nation’s psyche.
More recently the pair have had numerous cameo appearances on TV and continued with the theatre performances and pantomime, up and down the country. In 2005 they both appeared in I’m A Celebrity Get me out of Here.
Cannon and Ball – The Dressing Room takes place on Friday 13 January at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at just £20 and discounts are available.
