Questions in Parliament for Park Royal pupils

David Rutley, MP for Macclesfield, joined pupils from Park Royal Community School for a discussion and question-and-answer session during their visit to Parliament on 10^th March.

During the session, David told pupils about his work and answered questions on a range of topics including, why he became an MP, the future of Macclesfield town centre and the provision of superfast broadband. According to feedback collected by Parliament’s Education Service, which organised the group’s visit, school groups value the chance to meet their own MP during their visit.

Before David joined the group, they were taken on a tour of the Houses of Parliament and participated in an interactive workshop in Parliament’s Education Centre, where they explored the work of Parliament in more detail.

Following the session David said: “I was pleased to have the opportunity to meet with pupils from Park Royal and discuss my work as their local MP. It was clear that the pupils were well-informed about how Parliament works and it was good to be able to answer the questions they raised. I hope that they had an enjoyable visit and would encourage more local schools to take the opportunity to visit the Houses of Parliament.”
