Two people were taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash on the A537 Chelford Road, between Chelford roundabout and Monks Heath, yesterday, Tuesday 25th April.
The accident involved a white Ford pickup truck and a transit van, shortly after 7.20am.
A 21-year-old man from Congleton, who was driving the pick-up truck, was taken to Wythenshawe hospital while the driver of the van, a 44-year-old woman from Neston, was flown to Royal Stoke University Hospital by air ambulance.
Both victims had to be cut from their vehicles by firefighters from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service – who said they had sent crews from Macclesfield, Wilmslow and Knutsford to the scene.
The road remained closed until around 2.20pm in the afternoon.
A spokesman for the force said: “Enquiries into the cause of the collision are currently ongoing and anyone with any information in relation to the incident is asked to contract Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 97 of 25/4/2017.
