Officers from Macclesfield Local Policing team are appealing for information from the public following an attempted robbery in Wilmslow.
At approximately 7.30pm on Tuesday 30 May, the victim, an 18-year-old man from Aldeley Edge, met with a known man on the A34, near to the Trust Ford garage, Wilmslow.
After meeting with the man, the victim was led down an alleyway at the side of the Railway where the pair were met by two other men, who assaulted and attempted to rob the victim.
Investigating Officer DC Clare Slattery said: “Thankfully, the victim did not suffer any serious injuries and was able to flee the scene before the offenders were able to take anything. However, understandably, he has been left extremely shaken as a result of the incident.
“Investigations are ongoing at the current time and we are following a number of lines of enquiry. One man has already been arrested in relation to the incident as part of on-going enquiries we are now appealing to the public to help trace the two other men involved.
“The suspects are both described as being white men, in their late teens; the first suspect is believed to be approximately 5’6” tall and the second is approximately 6’1” tall. Both were both wearing dark clothing and had their hoods up. Following the incident both men were seen fleeing the scene in the direction of Summerfield Shops.
“I’d like to appeal to anyone with any information in relation to the incident to contact the team here at Macclesfield on 101.”
Anyone with any information in relation to the incident is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 896 of 30/6/2017. Information can also be passed anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
An 18-year-old man from Wilmslow has been arrested in relation to the incident; he has been released under investigation pending further investigations.
