This year’s Buxton Comedy Festival sees favourite flat-capped wearers The Lancashire Hotpots, celebrate ten years of songs. Lancashire institutions such as Chippy Teas and Shopmobility Scooters have helped the Hotpots built a well-earned reputation as the number one night out in the North West.
Bernard and the gang present their unique style of comedy and music in their trademark thick Lancashire accent. Their comedy tunes look at Lancashire life, the woes of modern technology and British culture. Past hits include He’s Turned Emo, and eBay eck. Their debut album Never mind the Hotpots reached number one on the iTunes comedy album chart.
The Hotpots started life remixing songs with a comedy spin for Radio One DJ Chris Moyles, who was well known for his mash ups of popular hits. The Hotpots soon developed their own version of comedy and folk all rolled into one, which as well as touring nationwide has gained them spots at Glastonbury Festival and Y-Not.
“Every home should have a Lancashire Hotpots record” – Steve Lamacq, BBC 6 Music
