Funding boost for mountain rescuers

Over the years generous Macclesfield residents have helped raise hundreds of pounds for the Buxton Mountain Rescue Service.

At their stall last week, in the Market Place, the Buxton Mountain Rescue Team raised over £400.

The money donated by local residents will be put towards supporting the Team’s mountain search and rescue efforts, as well as its work co-operating with local police, fire and ambulance services to respond to other incidents in semi-urban areas.

Fundraising is vital to the organisation’s work as it is staffed entirely by volunteers and completely self-funded. Donations can be made throughout the year via the Buxton Mountain Rescue Team’s website, www.buxtonmountainrescue.org.uk/support_us
