Walkers are invited to join Peak District National Park rangers for a rural to urban odyssey, exploring the Sheffield Moors, Padley Gorge and Porter Valley, as part of Sheffield Walking Festival.
The 8-miles walk is on Saturday September 9, and is free of charge.
The walk starts from the Station Café, at Grindleford, at 10.45am, and finishes at Endcliffe Park, in Sheffield, at 4pm. Booking is required.
National Park ranger Tom Lewis, who will be leading the walk, said: “Join me on this walk to appreciate the diverse landscape between the Peak District National Park and city of Sheffield.
“Along the way we’ll see features of interest including archaeology, history and wildlife, and we’ll talk about how the area is managed through the Sheffield Moors Partnership.”
The route includes footpaths and tracks with some ascents and descents on hilly and uneven ground. Dogs on leads are welcome.
“Walking is a great way to experience the Peak District National Park and to improve your fitness and stay healthy,” he added.
