Appeal following Goostrey burglary

Officers from Crewe CID are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a burglary at a convenience store in Goostrey.

Two masked men entered the store on Booth Bed Lane around 7.30 pm on Saturday 13 October. One of the men then jumped over the counter and stole cash from the till; he then forcibly damaged the stores CCTV system. The second man walked behind the counter and searched the storeroom at the rear of the shop. Both of the men then fled the store in an unknown direction.

The first suspect is described as a man, approximately 5’ 6” tall, of slim build with a Liverpool accent. He was wearing a full face balaclava, black gloves, denim jeans and a dark blue jersey type jumper. The second suspect is described as a man, approximately 6’ tall and of slim build. He was also wearing a balaclava and dark clothing.

Detective Constable Gail Burndred said: “Investigations in relation incident are ongoing and we are currently following a number of lines of enquiry, including CCTV analysis and forensics. “While the victims in this case were not threatened, they have understandably been left shaken as a result of their ordeal and we are committed to doing all we can to trace the people responsible. As part of my enquiries I’m keen to hear from anyone who believes they have any information which could assist the investigation.
