The Rotary Club of Macclesfield Castle once again held its annual Charities Bazaar on Saturday 17th November to support the important work of many local charities, helping them to raise much needed funds.
Local MP, David Rutley, opened the well-attended event at St Michael’s Church on behalf of the Club, and thanked the Club’s volunteers and all the local charities present for the vital work that they undertake in and around local communities. On his visit, David also took the opportunity to speak personally with representatives from a number of the charities and discuss with them their future plans.
Now in its 43rd year, the Charities Bazaar has become a firm fixture in the Rotary Club’s annual calendar of events, as well as for the wider community. An impressive twenty local charities had stalls at the Bazaar, including Just Drop-In, The Rossendale Trust, Cre8, Reach Out And Recover, and Tradecraft, providing a great opportunity for local residents to start getting into the festive spirit with some early Christmas shopping, and enjoy a mince pie at the same time.
Speaking after the event, David said, “As the strong turnout from both local charities and residents shows, Macclesfield Castle Rotary Club’s Charities Bazaar continues to be a well-established event in the local calendar. I am grateful to the Clubfor once again organising such a successful event, and to local residents for visiting the Bazaar in numbers and helping to support the vital work of so many local charities across our communities.”
