Town centre in freefall

Day’s Ironmonger on Pickford Street went just before Christmas, Don Millers and the perfume shop in the Grosvenor Centre went over Christmas.

The Alternative Tanning Shop on Mill Street has also just closed it’s doors for the last time.

And people camping out on Mill Street is doing nothing to encourage anyone to come into what’s left of the town centre.

And please don’t scream they’re homeless or we’re heartless – those tents could be pitched in many less sensitive places.

The town centre needs all the help it can get – and this isn’t helping!
